Subsurface Buoyancy

HardBall Floats™ from Flotation Technologies provide distributed buoyancy for cable laying, offshore, and oceanographic applications. They are available in a range of sizes and have depth ratings from surface to 6000m. Whether for Sea Plow, ROV or mooring applications, this versatile product offers a simple way to meet buoyancy requirements.

Risk Free Materials and Construction

Unlike glass balls or hollow plastic floats, HardBall Floats™ cannot leak or implode. Only the highest strength, epoxy-based Flotec™ syntactic foams are used to form the core — no macrospheres or other high risk materials. Center through holes are completely lined and are bell mouthed at each end to extend the life of attachment rigging. For the exterior, our thick wall polyethylene shell provides superior impact resistance.

Novel Attachment Method

HardBall Floats™ are supplied with a center through hole for attachment rigging so that the floats may be placed anywhere along a cable. Pass mooring eye assemblies through the float or use soft line to lash the floats directly to the cable. We also offer a unique attachment kit for frequent deployment and recovery. This kit allows each float to be quickly and securely clipped and unclipped from the cable during deployment and recovery.
