Manufactured by Teledyne RD Instruments (RDI) - the world leader in ADCP technology - they provide data quality and reliability unsurpassed by other instruments, and a solid track record of user success in the field. While success begins with a great family of instruments, deployment products are a critical link in optimizing data return. Flotation Technologies understands the value of data recovery as well as ADCP technology, oceanographic operations, and what it takes to supply products that insure performance.

Flotation Technologies is clearly the world leader in the design and manufacture of deployment products for use with ADCPs. Developed in conjunction with RDI, our ADCP Buoys are the industry standard, with well over 1,000 units in use in the global oceans. These Buoys are performance-proven, and have a long track record of successful deployment and recovery. The same is true of our Trawl Resistant Bottom Mounts (TRBMs)----yet another critical offering that is the benchmark against which all others are judged. We have worked closely with RD Instruments (and users) for over 15 years to ensure that these products are meeting the needs of ADCP user.

Designed for Ocean Environments
Our products are designed by an experienced engineering staff that fully understands the effects of galvanic corrosion, biofouling, sedimentation, and changing ocean environments. They have knowledge of common shipboard equipment and instrumentation and of typical operations at sea. This leads to the supply of purpose-built mooring buoyancy and instrument platforms that are built to last, in the harshest conditions. Durability in ensured in a variety of ways, including the incorporation of quality materials such as Flotec™ syntactic foams and composites, 5000 series aluminum, 316 stainless steel and titanium, and polyurethane elastomers. Made for subsurface environments, Flotec products are long-term service solutions.

Ongoing development, continuous improvement
Adding to our line of ADCP buoys and TRBMs, Flotation Technologies is currently developing a towable, trimaran style, flow measurement platform for river, stream and man-made channel applications. For attachment to Offshore Rigs and other structures, an all-purpose ADCP clamp is under development that will provide users a universal and simple-to-install instrument mount.
