| Flotation Technologies manufacture a full
range of impact/abrasion protection products for use on subsea pipelines,
cables and umbilicals. Used to protect against repetitious abrasion
at touchdown points, cable and pipe crossings, and dropped object
impacts, FLOTECT™ impact/abrasion protection helps to maintain
the integrity of assets in the field. Flotation Technologies manufactures
FLOTEC™ protection products from impact-absorbing grades of polyurethane
elastomer. Each component is cast to exacting tolerances in our modern
manufacturing plant, under strict process control. Materials are engineered
to meet specific customer requirements in the Cable, Offshore and
Alternative Energy fields.
Depending on the application, FLOTECT™ can be provide in
two different configurations:

Standard FLOTECT™:
Standard FLOTECT™ impact protection is provided in convenient
lengths for installation. Pairs of interlocking half-shells are
secured around the core product with stainless steel, Alloy 625
or Titanium banding and provide excellent abrasion and impact protection.
Half-shells seal tightly together, preventing the ingress of sand
or other abrasive materials. Many different sizes and formulations
are offered, based on specific project requirements.

FLOTECT HD™:
When maximum protection is needed, FLOTECT HD™ is specified.
This design combines maximum impact protection with a degree of
bend restriction, and is often used at pipeline and cable crossings.
Sections overlap and interlock, and are secured around the core
product with stainless steel, Alloy 625 or Titanium banding depending
on required service life. Protection is quick and easy to install
onshore or offshore, and can conform to core materials with tight
minimum bend radii.
Flotation Technologies also offers the sale or rental
of banding tools for installation.
