In response to the demand for data in areas where fishing activity is a serious concern, Flotation Technologies has developed a complete line of Trawl Resistant Bottom Mounts (TRBMs) for Teledyne RD Instruments ADCPs. From the Workhorse Sentinel and Long Ranger to the original NarrowBand™ and BroadBand™ Dopplers, we have a model that is right for your instrument.

Depending upon the specific requirements, acoustic recoverable systems are offered for deployment depths to 1000 meters. Unlike competing bottom mounts that depend upon a pop-up float reaching the surface for recovery, the Flotation Technologies' design uses a Flotec™ syntactic foam Recovery Pod. This buoyant pod trails a high-strength, spectra mooring line that then assists in the recovery of the detachable base. This unique approach helps insure the retrieval of your ADCP, release, and most importantly, your data!

AL-200

Designed for use with Teledyne RD Instruments Workhorse series ADCPs. Free-Fall deployable system with double axis gimbal keeps the ADCP oriented to vertical. Buoyant recovery pod allows for primary retrieval of all instrumentation. Spectra line pack provides the means for recovery of anchoring base for turnaround deployments. Ideal for depths to 200 meters. Optional 500m depth rated Recovery Pod for deeper rated Sentinel.

DD-100

For Workhorse series ADCPs. Lowered into place, this system is completely serviceable by divers. Well suited for shallow water and where diver access is a safe option. High impact marine grade concrete and UHMW double axis gimbal. ADCP can be removed and installed easily without recovery of the system. Can be cabled to shore for direct reading applications.

AL-200 / RA

For Long Ranger™, BroadBand™ and NarrowBand™ ADCPs fitted with a 90 degree adapter, or with remote transducer head assemblies cabled to the main pressure case. Can also be used with any other Teledyne RDI ADCP except the 75 kHz model. Size and overall setup allow for a full suite of instrumentation to be installed (i.e. modem and NEMO module configurations, homing/locator devices).  Fully Free-Fall deployable. Buoyant recovery pod for primary retrieval of all instrumentation, and Spectra line pack for recovery of anchoring base for turnaround deployments. Standard maximum working depth is 200 meter. Disposable bases are available for deeper deployments.

AL-500

Used with Long Ranger™, or earlier 75kHz BB ADCP models set up with remote transducer head assemblies cabled to the main pressure case. Configured for compact, multi-instrument arrangements (i.e. modem and NEMO module configurations, homing/locator devices).  Free-Fall deployable system with double axis gimbal. Buoyant recovery pod for primary retrieval of all instrumentation, and Spectra line pack for recovery of base for turnaround deployments. Standard maximum working depth is 500 meters. Disposable concrete bases available for deployments to 1000 meters.

BTM / AL-50

NOT TRAWL RESISTANT. Ideal for use with Workhorse series ADCPs where fishing activity is not a concern. Deployed and recovered with diver assistance.
